Dual Wall Exhaust Composition

1. INNER LAYER The aluminised steel allows for low thermal expansion coefficient when compared to stainless steel, making them less likely to deform under heat stress.
2. NEEDED FELT The thick 1" non-combustible and non-flammable internal insulation offers superior heat absorption, reducing surface temperature up to 349°F.
3. OUTER LAYER The aluminised steel allows for additional low thermal reduction.

External V-Band Joints

Standard Dual Skin systems often fail to mitigate high surface temperatures at joints. Mammoth addresses this with External V-Band Joints, which offer:

Heavy-duty flanged connections for added thickness at joints, minimising thermal conduction.
Prevention of hot spots and ignition sources, enhancing overall system safety.

Hitachi EH5000 Sound Suppressed Exhaust System

A site running Hitachi EH5000 trucks that were fitted with standard sound suppression mufflers was having issues with them due to high back pressure, cracking and falling apart prematurely. The current mufflers were not meeting the sound reduction requirements the site was seeking to achieve. The client was exceeding boundary noise limits due to upscaling of fleet size and required noise reduction to be achieved on existing trucks to continue mining at night.

Komatsu 930E grid box and exhaust attenuation

The client operated an open cut coal mine in NSW. The sound power target for its fleet of Komatsu 930E trucks was set at 120 dB(A) to meet the boundary noise requirements. The current noise level was recorded at 124 dB(A), 4 dB(A) louder than the prescribed limits.
